There are many American general retailers that are known, respected and famous all over the world. And these companies can be both famous and notorious. They provide some services and products that people need in many countries in the world and they advertise themselves very aggressively. Marketing managers of these companies develops some outstanding plans that help these companies to win the popularity of so many people. First of all they gain popularity in their own country and then expand into foreign markets. Surely, there are some exceptions when everything happens vice versa, but they are rare. And what is interesting is that many of these famous retailers are online retailers. And the hugest discounter at the market is surely Walmart. Walmart. Walmart is a chain of the cheapest department stores and this chain is the biggest in the whole country. Walmart store is a must in the American suburbs. Walmart stores, Inc. is on the lists of Fortune 500. The first Walmart store was opened in 1962 in Arkansas, the company was established in 1969. The founders of the company are idols of the American business Sam and Bud Walton. Sam Walton was on the Time Magazine list of 100 greatest people of the 20 century. Nowadays Walmart is very popular because of higher tax refunds and eventually improvements in the jobs picture. The company is world’s largest retailer by revenues. Many people choose Walmart because it chooses to mix merchandise instead of raising prices.
Walmart problems. There have been hundreds of complaints filed by customers of Walmart. The company states that Walmart membership offers a diverse range of opportunities to its members. The members of Walmart programs can purchase different merchandise directly from the manufacturer and its suppliers. That allows to set comparatively low prices because the marketing model avoids the middleman but still people do complain. Memberships are for two or three years and that is quite a long time. Later on the member can renew the membership but at the preset time people very rarely do that because they found out that this membership programs re not for them. But there is one more problem: the prices of merchandise and membership may vary by location. This is because each franchise is individually operated. Still, the number of advantages of Walmart membership prevails and that is why the number of members grows up very fast.
